Day 15: Biker Painter
I see this scene today and start laughing! This is what I enjoy so much about this experience. It makes me smile everyday, and find myself looking forward to the next day to see what other scenes will make me smile. I guess he's wearing a helmet to protect his face from the paint??
Day 14: Hula Hoop
My son tells me this morning, "Hey look I gave him a Hula Hoop. I though, him?? I guess Fabio likes to Hula Hoop!

Day 13: Family Fun
We have talked about traveling the country in a camper, I guess my son was listening. He tells me, "Look how many people we can fit in the camper". I guess we're bringing guests.
Day 12: The "Man" Power
My son calls me to come look at his Lego's today and is laughing continuously as he tells me that the "man is pushing the monster truck up the ramp" he meant the minifigure I think because that's what he usually calls them, but I don't think he realizes the verbal pun he used. Look at the word on the back of the light blue minifigure and you will see.

Day 9: Segway
I didn't even know my son knew what a Segway was. But I guess he made his own personal people mover.

Day 3: Minifigure Bowling
For some particular reason, my son loves to take off all the wheels from his vehicles and stack them up and make piles of wheels that he then shoots his minifigures into. Almost like minifigure bowling. Strike!

Day 2: Axe Santa
Don't know if I should be worried about this...I guess the axe is used to cut down Christmas trees? But a Christmas sleigh made from his imagination, I'm impressed. Plus he put the boxes on the side for presents.

Happy New Year! 2014
Welcome to the start of a new year and a new project. In the middle of this past year year, 2014, my son (5 years old) started to really get into building Lego's. I loved Lego's as a child also, and I thought this would be a great way for my son and I to connect more and for me to spend more quality time with him. Lego's for me really helped my learning, fine motor skills, and creativity, so I was hoping this would be the case for my son also. So far it has been a success. In part I'm sure to the amount of time I spend with him and also to the enthusiasm and patience I have with him when it comes to all things Lego. He has been able to focus more and it has done wonders to his "attitude". It has also given me many opportunities to slip in "Learning" opportunities as we spend time building together.
As my son and I built many sets together, I was very interested in how he would disassemble sets, make different scenes, swap accessories, and "play" with the Lego's. This has inspired me to do a "photographic 365" project with the scenes of my son's Lego sets. The goal for this year will be to photograph at least one scene a day from my son's creation. I hope the viewers of this blog will smile and laugh as much as I have, experiencing the scenes of Lego from the mind of a 5 year old.
Day 1: My son loves watching "construction", (as he calls it) on the show "Gold Rush". He loves watching the heavy machinery dig and move dirt around. Coincidentally, one of his gifts for Christmas was a mining 4x4 he got from a friend of ours. I love the "Gold Hair" the miner has and the weird payload the vehicle has in the back. The "fallen" on his face minifigure with the coffee cup is a nice touch too! Probably from being "over worked"! Like in the show.
